Scott family visit July 2009

Peter Scott, the UK co-ordinator and founder of HUR, went with some of his family to visit Uganda during July and August 2009. Whilst there they had the opportunity to meet with Ludovick and Lydia, and visit the camp, secondary school and college.

At the camp there is a primary school, which HUR provided materials for at the start of 2009. There are about 200 children at this school, with about 60 children to a class. Some of the classrooms are original rooms used by sugar cane workers, and are small, dark and hot! On the day the family visited with Ludovick and Lydia they were treated to speeches by the Head Teacher and governors, expressing their gratefulness to everyone for the support they had received. Each of the primary classes also did displays of dancing and singing. Afterwards everyone played football and netball outside. The family were overwhelmed by the welcome and thanks given for the things the charity had managed to do for them.
